Employee engagement and satisfaction assessments are very often the first project we do with our new clients. By design, employee engagement surveys are broad and give very high-level information that helps direct next steps for assessment. It is good to think of them as a Step 1 in your fact-finding. There are many subcategories within employee engagement, for example personal satisfaction, intent to turn over, personal organization match, work-life balance, and more.


Research has shown that companies with highly engaged employees experience significant improvements in productivity and profitability. Engaged employees are 21% more productive, and organizations with high employee engagement levels see a 21% increase in profitability compared to those with low engagement levels. (Schaufeli et al., 2021).
